Chicago’s Own – Leonard Roberts

Leonard Roberts is a Midwest boy at heart and was born in St. Louis, Mo. Because he called Chicago home for so long and started his career there, I consider him one of Chicago’s very own.

Leonard Roberts was born November 17, 1972 in St. Louis, MO. In 1996 he moved to Chicago to attend DePaul Theatre School. After four years of training and receiving his BFA in acting, he embarked on a career that has taken him around the world on stage, in feature films and on television.

His work speaks for itself with a resume that reads like an entertainment industry who’s who, with credits like: Love Jones; He Got Game; The 60’s; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Jag; Joe and Max (in which he portrayed the title character Joe Louis); Drumline and Drumline: A New Beat; Savages; Heroes; 24; Providence; Criminal Minds; CSI; American Sniper; American Crime Story – The People vs O.J. Simpson; and most recently, Major Crimes and Headgame.

There is so much more that Leonard has been cast in and accomplished, but he would tell you that nothing is more important to him than his beautiful wife Amie and their son Evan. They are his rock, the foundation that keeps him level-headed and grounded. Leonard would tell you that he is no different than the guy standing next to him, and is as humble as they come.

Leonard is on the fast track – and one to watch!
