11/16/17 – Jim Abele and Nike Doukas


Jim Abele and Nike Doukas join Michael and Andrew to discuss their respective roles in  King Charles III on stage now at the Pasadena Playhouse through December 3rd. On the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana, she returns to the stage as a ghost (Nike Doukas). Now, in one of the most provocative plays in recent memory, the Royals are never very far away as evidenced by their recent appearances in three hit TV series: “The Crown” on Netflix, “Victoria” on PBS and the upcoming second season of FX’s hit show “Feud” entitled “Charles and Diana”.

In “King Charles III” written by Mike Bartlett – the Olivier Award winner for Best New Play and a Tony Award nominee, the Queen is dead – and Charles (portrayed by Jim Abele), who has spent his life preparing for this moment, is about to ascend to the throne. Camilla, William, daughter-in-law Kate, and Harry now have a lot to talk about … and Harry has a new love interest, replete with an embarrassing past, and then there is this persistent ghost …
