LEWIS BAUMANDER – Lewis founded the Lewis Baumander Acting Studio, www.LBactingstudio.com, where he teaches weekly group classes year-round, and coaches actors individually on a daily basis. Recently Lewis has worked and/or is currently working with actors on the TV shows Saving Hope, Rookie Blue, Lost Girl , Defiance, Cracked, Copper, Murdoch Mysteries, The Carrie Diaries, Hannibal, Degrassi, Hemlock Grove, Satisfaction, Bitten, Heartland, The Expanse, The Strain, Spun Out, Max and Shred, The Odd Squad, Ascension, and The Returned. Over the past 37 years Lewis has directed over 100 plays across Canada in such theatres as the Tarragon and the Manitoba Theatre Centre (including Hamlet with Keanu Reeves). He built and ran Skylight Theatre in Earl Bales Park for 10 years where he directed many Shakespeare plays and other classical theatre pieces. He has taught at many Colleges and University’s including, U of T, York University, University of Manitoba, University of Windsor, Ryerson, and Humber College. For 5 years he directed the Industry Show for the School Of Comedy at Second City with guest hosts, Andrea Martin, Dave Foley, Graeme Greene, Colin Macherie and Air Farce Alumnae Don Ferguson. He has consulted on the casting of 4 series, coaching actors on more than 150 episodes of TV and countless features. He cast 4 feature films, auditioned over 7000 actors for stage, film and TV, and has viewed endless hours of audition tape having sat in the rooms where the decisions were made. DEIRDRE BOWEN – Deirdre Bowen is a Casting Director for feature films and television. She has been fortunate to have worked closely with many of the major players in Canadian film. For Niv Fichman she cast Enemy, Blindness, Antiviral, Hobo with a Shotgun and The Red Violin. She has virtually cast all of David Cronenberg’s films, including most recently Maps to the Stars, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method, and Cosmopolis. For Don Carmody she worked on Pompeii, Silent Hill and Resident Evil Retribution. Most recently she has been casting feature films for Directors Paul Gross, Radu Mihaleanu and Olivier Assayas. Some of her recent television work includes The Book of Negroes, Sensitive Skin as well as the Canadian casting for the Vikings.
GREG BRYK – Greg Bryk is one of the stars of the hit show BITTEN on Space Channel and SyFy, as well as CBC’s recent epic mini series, Book Of Negroes. With over 60 credits to his name Greg Bryk has played leading roles in the television shows Regenesis and XIII, as well as created memorable characters in major motion pictures such as History Of Violence, Shoot Em Up, and Immortals. Along with numerous guest starring appearances over the years, Greg did award winning work in the gritty Canadian indie films Poor Boy’s Game and Deadliest Sea and also spent two years as a company member with the Stratford Festival at the start of his career. He happily calls Canada home.
KRISHA BULLOCK, CSA- Krisha Bullock (Bullock & Snow Casting) has over seventeen years of casting experience, specializing in youth programming and entertainment, from commercials to television to feature films. She has been nominated for over a dozen Artios awards by the Casting Society of America and was a past recipient of the Seymour Heller Award for Television Casting Director of the Year awarded by the Talent Manager’s Association. She is the 2013 recipient of the Artios Award for Excellence in Casting for “iCarly”. She currently casts the hit show, “Henry Danger” as well as a new Untitled Pilot by Dan Schneider. Some of her other credits include the shows, “Sam & Cat”, “Victorious”, iCarly”, “Drake and Josh”, “Zoey 101”, “All That”, “The Amanda Show”, “Kenan and Kel”, the feature film “Alice Upside Down”, the TV movie “Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh,” as well as the television pilots for “True Jackson V.P.” and “C3.” Her expertise in youth casting led her to be the choice Casting Director in a nationwide search for a music project with Simon Fuller, Perez Hilton and Jamie King. Outside of Casting, Krisha has been a mentor and teacher to thousands of hopeful young people, helping them break into the industry by teaching them some of the do’s and don’ts of auditioning and navigating them toward a professional career. She has guided many up and coming actors including the Oscar nominated Hailee Steinfeld, who still utilizes her advice today.
CORINNE CLARK – Corinne is an Emmy nominated Casting Director who has worked in the film & television industry for over 20 years, She has cast high profile television shows such as AMC’S “The Killing”, ABC’s “Once Upon A Time”, FOX’s “Gracepoint” and the Disney feature “Tomorrowland”.
NICOLE HILLIARD-FORDE – Nicole Hilliard-Forde is a media professional supported by a career spanning 15 years in casting for series, MOWs and feature films. Motel Pictures is co-founded and headed by Nicole Hilliard-Forde. Motel aims to produce inspiring, provocative, commercially viable features by both established and first-time directors, aimed at an adult audience. Nicole is currently responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the development and production of content for film, television and digital platforms. Current projects include the feature film Frock, directed by Stephen Dunn ; the film adaptation of Heidegger Stairwell by Kayt Burgess, directed by Scott Smith; and The Other Half, directed by Joey Klein, starring Tatiana Maslany and Tom Cullen. JOEL THOMAS HYNES – Joel Thomas Hynes is an award winning actor, writer and director from Newfoundland, Canada. He’s been working creatively in the film and television industry since his early twenties and is known for both comedy and drama, usually playing darker, bad boy roles – social misfits, outcasts, criminals and all round irreverent characters. He has written and directed two award-winning short films and recently won the Michael Weir award for Best Atlantic Screenwriter for the acclaimed feature Cast No Shadow, in which he also plays a leading role. Cast No Shadow, adapted from Hynes’s book Say Nothing Saw Wood, was nominated for four Canadian Screen Awards including Best Adapted ScreenPlay and Best Feature Film. Hynes is the author of numerous stageplays and several celebrated novels and works of non-fiction. His first novel Down to the Dirt was adapted to the big screen with Hynes playing the lead role. Down to the Dirt premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was showcased at Canne’s. Hynes is a recent alumni of the Canadian Film Centre’s Cineplex Screenwriter’s Lab in Toronto.
JENNY LEWIS and SARA KAY – Jenny Lewis and Sara Kay have been in business together for twelve years. Their full service Casting Company started small focusing on indie films, short films and even some reality and host casting. After over a decade together and two CSA awards, they are firmly entrenched in the Canadian Casting scene. While they still always make time for indie films and up and coming filmmakers, the majority of their work lies in series and feature films. They are now complemented by a full associate, Morgyn Johnston, who has been with the company for five years. PAUL WEBER – As Former Executive Head of Television Casting and Feature Film Consultant for MGM Studios, Paul Weber notably cast the wildly popular STARGATE franchise. Other TV credits include SPARTACUS:GODS OF THE ARENA, DEAD LIKE ME, SHE SPIES, POLTERGEIST, and THE OUTER LIMITS. These series and others have garnered numerous honors including 21 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. For the big screen, Weber has advised on numerous MGM features including the blockbuster JAMES BOND franchise, FAME, ZOOKEEPER with Kevin James, HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, RED DAWN with Chris Hemsworth, Joss Whedon’s CABIN IN THE WOODS, and ROBOCOP. Weber is now a fully independent casting director and producer. In addition to a number of independent features, recent and on going credits include projects for STARZ, LIFETIME and the CW. Currently he is working on several Independent Features, as well as a ½ comedy series and a movie for LIFETIME/A&E. He is also a casting consultant for several Canadian and American production companies, studios and networks. Under his production banner, “One on the Way Prod”, Paul and his producing partners are engaged in developing and producing new media and independent feature projects. Weber is a member of the Casting Society of America, the Writers Guild of America, and has served on the Host Committee for the Annual Academy Awards. He is an instructor in the Theatre/Film Dept. at UCLA and has been asked to appear on the prestigious 2015 SXSW Film Festival panel representing Casting Directors.
ARI WEINBERG – Since graduating from Sheridan College’s Music Theatre- Performance Program, Ari has spent the last eight years as an actor performing all over the country (credits include The Stratford Festival, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and Drayton Entertainment). Ari is also a certified teaching artist from the Stratford Festival and York University. He recently directed Hugh and I at the Toronto Fringe, co-directed Sheridan College’s sold out production of Godspell and oversaw youth outreach and programming as the Discovery Coordinator at the Flato Markham Theatre. As a recipient of a Professional Theatre Training Program grant from Theatre Ontario, Ari assistant directed Salt Water Moon at the Thousand Islands Playhouse and was mentored by Steven Schipper in artistic direction at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Ari is currently the Internship Advisor for Sheridan’s Music Theatre- Performance Program. On June 1, 2015 Ari will become Winnipeg Jewish Theatre’s next Artistic Director.
DAVID GUTHRIE – David Guthrie is a Film/TV Professional with experience behind the camera as the General Manager of Casting Central, Toronto’s premiere Film/TV & Theatre Casting Facility and in front of the camera as an Actor. Recent credits include Remedy, Saving Hope and Covert Affairs. David has dubbed himself “a jack of all trades, master at some!” He is the guy that people go to for just about anything. David is a PC Guy not a Mac Guy but is well versed in both platforms. He is known as a hardcore Blackberry Fan but is capable of solving mobile phone queries regardless of the OS. David is an avid cyclist and opts to use his bike over an automobile or public transit; even in the winter months. GARY MARSH – Founder and CEO of Breakdown Services/Actors Access. Marsh began his career as an actor after emigrating from England in 1963. Marsh terminated his acting career to begin Breakdown Services in 1971. A graduate of UCLA in 1976, Gary is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The family of companies that he has created employs over 100 people.
